Joseph R. Postiglione Sr., CPSM is a procurement and enterprise transformation executive with more than 20 years of experience building, scaling and modernizing procurement capabilities across financial services, professional sports, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and management consulting. His career combines senior operating leadership with Big Four consulting experience, giving him a practical perspective on both designing transformation and being accountable for making it work inside complex organizations.
Joe has held senior procurement leadership roles including Chief Procurement Officer of the National Basketball Association, Vice President of Procurement at Credit One Bank, senior supply-chain leadership at NYU Langone Medical Center, and Head of Procurement for North America at Eisai Pharmaceuticals. Earlier in his career, he held director-level management consulting roles with Deloitte and PwC, advising organizations on procurement-function design, operating models, technology requirements, strategic sourcing and organizational change.
At the NBA, Joe transformed Procurement from a two-person decentralized function into a global organization managing approximately $750 million under contract. He built and led a 30-person organization plus outsourced Asia-Pacific support, advanced procurement technology through SAP/Ariba, and established scalable sourcing, supplier-management and governance capabilities. At Credit One Bank, he led an approximately $500 million indirect-spend portfolio while advancing procurement orchestration, third-party risk management, contingent workforce strategy and procurement technology.
Throughout his career, Joe has focused on the intersection of procurement strategy, operating-model transformation, technology enablement and measurable business value. He believes procurement technology should follow clear business requirements, governance and an organization’s capacity to adopt and operationalize change – not become the transformation strategy itself.
Joe is also a published author and creator of Commercial Control(TM), a management concept focused on protecting the expected business outcomes that justify major investments by making those outcomes more observable and manageable throughout implementation and operational life. A frequent speaker at procurement conferences and industry podcasts, he has contributed to the profession through SIG, Art of Procurement and ProcureCon, and has been recognized in Who’s Who in Procurement.
